Scholarship Eligibility Guidelines and Applications
Who Is Eligible To Apply?
Applicants for the GLOW Scholarship must:
- Be United States Citizens or Legal Residents living in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or U.S. Territories.
- The student must be female between the ages of 25-50 years old.
- Be a full or part-time student enrolled or accepted into an undergraduate college or university program in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland.
- Be pursuing a course of study in a business related field.
- The student must be pursuing their first baccalaureate degree and have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or Student Air Report (SAR).
- Members or immediate family of the GLOW organization and its branches are not eligible.
What Will Be Awarded?
The student will receive a scholarship of $500. Recipients will be reimbursed, up to $500, for expenses related to tuition, books, or parking fees. Once expenses are submitted, the scholarship check will be made payable to the recipient and will be mailed to the recipient’s home address.
How Do I Apply?
To apply applicants must complete an application and write a short essay (300 words or less) describing why they wish to pursue an education in the business filed and why the scholarship is important to them. Applicants must also submit a FAFSA Student Aid Report so that financial need can be confirmed. The application is listed below and must be submitted via email. As part of the application process, applicants may need to participate in a brief phone interview by a member(s) of God Loving Obeying Women Inc.
When Is The Application Filing Period?
Applications will be available annually as of March 1 and can be submitted between March 1 and 11:59 pm ET on April 30.
How Will The Recipient Be Notified?
When Will The Scholarship Be Paid?
Scholarships will be paid no later than October 20. As noted above, once the recipient submits their receipt for their school-related expenses such as tuition, books, or parking fees. The scholarship check will be made payable to the recipient’s home address. If proof of expenses are submitted after September 20, the recipient forfeits the scholarship.
